The 7 African Powers are the most important deities (orishas) in the Yoruba pantheon Obatalá, Yemayá, Shangó, Elegguá, Oggún, Orunmila and Oshún venerated for their immense power. When they are depicted with Christ crucified in the center (often associated with Obatalá or as a symbol of the Supreme), the whole represents the union, protection, and harmony of these forces under the guidance of God.
