Sacred Heart of Jesus

The image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, although of Catholic origin, is used in the Yoruba religion (Santería) through syncretism to represent forces of love, protection, transformation, and sacrifice. Generally, it is associated with orishas related to goodness, family, and blood, often venerated in contexts of compassion and family unity.

• Representation of Love and Sacrifice: The burning heart symbolizes God's intense love for humanity, which in Santería is connected to devotion and dedication, reflecting orishas who care for their children.
• Association with Orishas: Although it does not have a single correspondence, it is often related to the energy of figures such as Obatalá (for peace and compassion) or in contexts of healing, given the blood and the wound in the side, symbolizing redemption.
• Protection and Family Unity: The image is often used in domestic altars to invoke protection, harmony, and love within the home, acting as a symbol of faith
