San Cayetano 8"
Patron Saint of Bread and Work
In Yoruba syncretism, Saint Cajetan, the saint of providence, bread, and work, does not have a direct and universally established correspondence with a specific Orisha in all pantheons. However, his invocation of Providence and aid to the needy resonates with the figure of Obatala (the father of all Orishas, creator and dispenser of the head and destiny) or sometimes with the idea of Oshun (for provision and abundance, although more closely linked to sweetness and love), focusing on prosperity and sustenance. Yoruba syncretism, present in Santería/Lucumí and other Afro-Brazilian religions, associates Catholic saints with Orishas, but Saint Cajetan, patron saint of job seekers, is more closely connected to themes of well-being, divine justice, and sustenance.
