Woven bamboo basket

In Santería (the Orisha-Ifá tradition), the bamboo basket is primarily used as a functional and symbolic element to present and transport offerings (addimú) to the Orishas.

• Presentation of Addimú (Offerings): They are used to hold fruits, sweets, cooked foods, or other items offered to specific deities such as Shangó, Eleguá, or Obatala.
• Ritual Organization: They help keep the essential elements of a ceremony organized, such as candles, cowrie shells, or the saints' tools.
• Sacred Decoration: They are used to adorn altars or thrones, especially during saint festivals or commemorative dates.
