Covered güiro Osain 4" H x 4.5" W Approx.

The beaded güiro for Osain (or Ossaín) in Santería is primarily used as a sacred vessel to house the energy and secrets of this deity. It represents knowledge of plants, natural medicine, and defense against osogbos (evils or negative energies), being fundamental in the consecration and worship of the orisha of the herb

• Seat or Shrine: It functions as a material receptacle covered with beads that represent Osain, serving for his worship and protection in the home.
• Healing and Defense: It is used in ceremonies to invoke the power of Osain in the healing of illnesses and protection against witchcraft or bad vibes.
• Guardian of Wisdom: Osain is the owner of nature and plants, so the güiro symbolizes the connection with the secret knowledge of the vegetation (the "Treaty of Osain").
• Ritual Instrument: Although sometimes confused with musical instruments, the beaded güiro in the context of Osain acts more as an element of power (body of the orisha) than as a common percussion instrument
