Red ocher

Almagre is a red iron oxide used in Santería and Ifá primarily for esoteric rituals, witchcraft, and to consecrate or mark ritual objects due to its symbolism of blood and earth. It is essential for love work (such as candle spells), binding spells, petitions, protection, and the preparation of magical cargas, with darker shades being preferred.

·        Love Rituals and Binding Spells: It is often used along with cartucho paper and candles to attract partners or intensify love, as detailed in this guide on rituals.

• Consecration and Cargas: It is used to paint or seal Orisha tools, sign and prepare the inside of fundamentos, or the "cargas" of the same.
• Ritual Marking: It is used to mark symbols, lines, or points on the body or on working materials, indicating a use for connecting with the energy of the earth and the ancestors
• Protection and Power: Due to its color and mineral origin (hematite), it is considered to provide strength and protection in esoteric work.
