Billiard Ball - Ivory

In Santería (Yoruba Religion) and the cult of Ifá, the white billiard ball is primarily used as a sacred attribute or tool dedicated to Odduduwa (Oduduwa), the Orisha creator and owner of the secrets of life and death.

• Representation of purity and creation: In the Yoruba pantheon, Odduduwa represents the principle of everything and pure wisdom. The smooth white ball is consecrated and placed inside his sopera (sacred container) as a symbol of that energy, perfection, clarity, and mystery.
• Consecration and preparation: It is used as a secret of foundation to strengthen and feed the energy of the Orisha.
• Spiritual works: Santeros and babalawos also use it in specific ceremonies to open paths, ward off bad influences, or in rituals where it is necessary to invoke the powerful energy of this Orisha.
