Measurements 1"X1". In Santería (Osha Regla) and Ifá, the small mask is used within the ebbó (cleansing or ritual) as a magical tool to deceive, ward off, or protect the petitioner from illness, death, or evil (the osogbo).
- Distraction and camouflage: It works to mislead negative entities or death itself (Ikú). By placing it in the ebbó, the person simulates a change of identity or face, causing evil to pass by and not recognize the real person.
- Protection against negative energies: It serves to "cover the face" of negativity and envious eyes (Oju Odara), neutralizing the harm before it materializes.
- Closing paths to evil: It is used to seal the bad intentions of enemies, sending the negativity back to its origins
