Wooden Ladder

The wooden ladder in Santería is primarily used as a ritual tool to open paths, spiritual evolution, and ascension, representing the connection between planes. It is frequently used on altars, thrones, and as an offering to Orishas such as Obatalá, facilitating the removal of obstacles and harmony.

• Evolution and Removal of Obstacles: It is placed before the spiritual guides (in the vault) to help overcome blockages, delays, and advance in life.
• Use with Orishas: It is common on Obatalá's thrones, symbolizing spiritual elevation, peace, and cleansing, and sometimes as a seven-step offering.
• Decoration on Altars: Wooden ladders (sometimes seven steps) are used as part of the spiritual decoration in religious houses.
• Symbol of Progress: It represents effort, ascension, and the connection between earth and the spiritual plane.
