Oggun Lined Guira 7"H x 5"W

In Santería (Regla de Ocha), a covered güiro (or covered güira) prepared specifically for Oggún serves primarily as a sacred vessel or container of power for this Orisha.

• Receptacle of Energy: It is used to house the secrets, energy, and "ashe" of Oggún. It is often known as a religious work vessel for the thrones of Oggún, being a fundamental piece in the worship of this orisha.
• Seat or Shrine: It serves as a "seat" or material shrine covered with beads (beads) and sometimes shells (diloggun), which represent the colors of Oggún (usually green and black or green and white).
• Protection and Worship: It serves to worship Oggún at home and for protection against negative energies (osogbos) and witchcraft.
• Use in Ceremonies: It is an essential ritual instrument that is used in ceremonies, güiro touches, and specific religious works where the presence of Oggún is needed.
• Elements of Power: The güiro can contain tiny metal tools, secrets of the orisha, and is consecrated to strengthen the connection with the owner of iron, war, and work.
