ayao's tools

Ritual tool set for Ayao. Pieces for use in Santería practices and the Yoruba religion.

The tool of Ayao in Santería is used to represent and connect with this minor orisha of the Yoruba pantheon, a fierce warrior of the air and nature closely linked to Oyá. Essential in transformation rituals, it is used to invoke guidance, protection, and energetic balance, being fundamental in the 9 places of ceremonies prior to the consecration of Oyá.

Tool Composition: Generally made of copper, it includes elements such as a coiled snake, a book, a feather, and a bow and arrow (related to Ochosi), reflecting her role as a messenger between realms.

• Protection and Messengering: She cares for the spirits (eggunes) that pass through the ceiba tree and carries messages to Oyá and Ikú.
• Divination and Guidance: Helps initiates interpret personal paths and wisdom.
• Ceremonies: It is used in the consecration of Oyá (Kari Osha) and to attend to the 9 eggunes that accompany said orisha.
