The pirate gun (or flintlock) in the ebbo (cleansing or sacrifice) of Santería symbolizes protection, spiritual defense, and the neutralization of enemies. It acts as a symbolic weapon charged with the energy of the orisha to ward off evil, witchcraft, and destroy difficulties in the devotee's path.

• Spiritual warfare: It is used in Santería workings that require a powerful offensive or defensive force. It works under the same principle as other iron or metal tools, representing the power to destroy obstacles quickly and definitively.
