Mystical Ros

The image of the Mystical Ros is an Italian Catholic devotion (Montichiari, 1947) that represents the Virgin Mary with three roses (white, red, yellow) on her chest, symbolizing prayer, sacrifice, and penance. Although she is not a Yoruba deity, religious syncretism often associates her with female orishas such as Oshun for her sweetness or Yemayá for her maternal protection.

• Three Roses (Sin to Grace): The white rose represents prayer, the red rose sacrifice, and the yellow rose penance.
• Theological Meaning: She is known as the "Rose of Jericho" or "Rose among Thorns," symbolizing Mary as a mother full of grace, purity, and tenderness in the midst of pain.
• Connection in the Yoruba Religion: Through syncretism, practitioners of Afro-Cuban or Yoruba religions may venerate her under the influence of female orishas, seeking her intercession for peace, love, and protection, similar to the energy of Oshun (love/motherhood) or the purification of Yemayá.
