Lightning Stone. Various sizes
The stones are a symbolic representation of the Lightning Stone. The base of the stone is River Stone.
The lightning stone (Edun Ara) is a sacred object in Santería, directly associated with Shango, the Orisha of fire, thunder, and justice. Its main purpose is ritual and spiritual protection, acting as a talisman against envy, witchcraft, and negative energies.
In the Yoruba tradition, these stones (which are usually prehistoric Neolithic axes or natural mineral formations) serve the following purposes:
-
Seal of power: They are placed inside Shango's sopera (sacred container) to consecrate his altar and enhance the Orisha's energy.
-
Protection against evil: They are worn as amulets or included in ceremonial necklaces to ward off curses and protect the home from storms.
-
Imparting justice: They are used in ceremonies in which the strength and rigor of Shango are invoked to resolve karmic or legal problems.
-
Energy cleansings: They help balance energy and grant courage, authority, and leadership to whoever possesses them.
